Have a Healthy Family – Activities for Everyone

I know that you and your partner have been working so hard to give your kids the best of everything. You gave your son his own smartphone. Your daughter received her new ipad. You bought your toddler a huge slide. Yes, they might have the best of material things, but it’s not enough to maintain a happy and healthy family. You need to take a break from work and squeeze the activities below.

Have a Dance or Karaoke night. You don’t have to leave your homes. You can do it in your living area. Play some catchy tunes. Dancing is fun and also a form of exercise. You are hitting 2 birds with 1 stone by doing such. Or if you want to pretend that all of you are divas, why not have your own karaoke night. Make sure that you turn on the scoring option and prepare a prize for the winner.

Cook healthy meals with your kids. I know that cooking or preparing meals with kids can be a bit time consuming. Well, the solution is to cook earlier than the usual. This could be a bonding time for the whole family. Make sure that you are going to prepare healthy foods. Encourage your kids to eat healthy.  

Create your own family game. I love to make family games. What I do is that I prepare a jar filled with fun and silly questions. I ask my kids to pick one during family dinner and we talk about it. Questions like, if you’re the president what law would you make? Make your answers fun and less boring. Your dinner will never be the same again. Trust me on this one.

Go for a camping trip. Nothing beats old – fashioned camping trip. If you want, you can go hiking too. It’s great to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city once in a while.

Come up with a garage sale.  This is a great bonding activity for the whole family. Ask your kids to get their unused old toys. Get your old clothes and come up with a garage sale. Who wouldn’t want to have extra cash? Use the profit for another family bonding activity like a zoo trip.

These activities are not just for physical health. Some are for mental and emotional health which are also important for one’s well – being. Think of other activities which will improve your family’s bond. I’m sure there are still hundreds of ideas.
